Very nice, I believe that's a sawyer lead at around the 48 second mark yeah? From my experience, madness tracks use a lot of Sawyer, Toxic Biohazard, Poizone, and Vanguard. So a lot of SAW ;) I think you also nailed the sound of the drums and the feeling of constant movement, while keeping the track interesting as it goes along. Good work.

AlbeGian responds:

Yeap! Tried to use as many saw-like/acid-like synths as possible, with a couple of creative liberties taken here and there. Unfortunately the first three plugins you mentioned are exclusive to FL which I don't use (I might be able to use FL vst on Cubase but I'd still suck at using the interface lol), but I'll definitely study them and find alternatives that work just as well so thanks a lot for the info and thanks for your feedback overall!!

Bangin track. A heads up, the Spotify link under "Some social pages" gave me a page loading error FYI. Might want to fix.

GameBalance responds:

WALAFQ it gave error :\ works 4 me.
I'll try switch it with the album link instead.
Thanks man :3

God damn this is such a banger. Great work, I can tell you've done nothing but improve tremendously over the years. When are you gonna start getting on Spotify?

Trackers responds:

Thanks... long time no see. I am on Streaming as Bafana Mac but music was all with labels and I had no control so started again with Trackers+ and then more recently as Unkie B for tracks like this. How have you been?

Sick. Mixing sounds super clean to. You do those yourself?

tittygang responds:

Didn’t have time to mix, the streets needed this!!

I get the inspiration 100%, always glad to meet a fan.

I get where you are coming from about the "not the best I could have done." I know that feeling all too well.

For every 1 track I release there are probably 10 or more so that are in creation limbo that never go anywhere. (They have cool ideas but no structure, the leads are not as full as I would like them to be, etc.).

For me I fall into the thinking of only putting the absolute necessary amount of breaks and intros into a piece, and I only put longer endings now if the song is less than 2 minutes without it (which is something I'm working on and still improving on).

FEEDBACK TO HELP YOU IMPROVE:

To tighten this track I think a good thing to do would be cut the 21 second drum intro and go directly into the drum/synth combo.

You need to grab user attention immediately in drum and bass. Underground Drum and Bass is a lot like punk rock, it's explosive, in your face, and grabs your attention immediately. And that's hard to do with long intros.

If I DO create a long intro, I'll put a drop at the end of the intro before going into an EXPLOSION of a lead and full bass line.

(By drop I basically mean getting rid of all the instruments except for one or dropping them all and adding a new synth or sound) I do this because it tells the listener "Oh damn, something big is about to happen."

And then BAM, you deliver your overpowering main line. (If you check out my track future, that has a long intro but I follow this structure to give it the power for when the main part comes in).

I would also tighten up the part between 1:06 and 1:25. I would make it 4 measures.
Have the first 2 measures be the begging part of the 1:06, then have the last 2 measures be the rim fills and drum hits from 1:25 to 1:26, and then maybe add a double pedal style bass kick, and then a crash cymbal when the main part at 1:28 comes in again.

I also think the drop at 2:11 would be AWESOME if you took out the drums and just had the synth playing for 2 measures. Then ad 2 measures of just a cymbal tap doing a 4/4 hit structure.

Then bring it back to an explosive ending.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK, What I liked:

The lead parts are really great, it 100% got me moving. I would go back and shorten this from being an OK near 3 minute song to a really solid 2:15 track and this would be perfect.

In fact, in my newer songs I tend to be around the 2 minute mark. My philosophy now is focus on simplicity, grabbing the listener right away, and doing more with less.

You obviously understand how to make catchy parts, now you just need to focus on building out your structure to make the lead up to those parts make sense.

Keep going, you have a lot of potential. 👍

I have no words. Holy shit thank you dude, and your critique is amazing. i am taking your advice and i'm trying to polish it up right now but i am having a hard time what you mean by "Have the first 2 measures be the begging part of the 1:06, then have the last 2 measures be the rim fills and drum hits from 1:25 to 1:26, and then maybe add a double pedal style bass kick, and then a crash cymbal when the main part at 1:28 comes in again." i'm having a hard time trying to understand what you mean by that so could you maybe simplify it please, Thank you man.

Dope, how do you get your mixes to sound so clear? I can never figure that part out.

D-Chain responds:

Focus on composing a song, this includes picking sounds and instruments that fit together, if they dont you make them fit, if you cant do that just move on to a different sound ect. A song isnt made by just throwing a bunch of things together is what im saying. The same goes for food. :p

Really big fan of the drum loops. Reminds me of old-school jungle tracks. I've been wanting to use them more in my own songs. I've only ever used drum loops in one track. Did you make them, if not, where did you get them?

luce responds:

google jungle jungle sample pack by blu mar ten
the break i used in paused was a mix of multiple breaks chopped up and put together

Damn, that slayer layering effect you have going on is awesome and all the sounds and flow of the song is pretty awesome. I just wish it was longer.

DESHIEL responds:

Years of messing up with the slayer taught me some things :)
It would be if I wasn't under so much pressure and time limit. :D Had little time to work with. :)

Neat.

Jabun responds:

Cheers :D

Nice. Was listening to this while in the kitchen. it got me in a pretty intense and engaged mood. it's a nice background track to listen to while working.

ZLEAP responds:

I cant imagine doing anything in the house without music.

Thanks.
